Wildcat News- Home School Connection, week 36

Thank you Teachers

Hello Wildcats,

This week, we’re excited to celebrate Certificated Staff Appreciation Week, a time to recognize and thank the incredible teachers who care for, guide, and inspire our students each and every day.

I’d like to share a story about a third-grade student who began the year feeling shy and unsure of themselves. Reading aloud was something they tried to avoid, and school often felt overwhelming. But their teacher saw something special in them. With gentle encouragement, patience, and steady reassurance, that teacher created a space where the student felt safe to take small risks. Little by little, things began to change. The student started raising their hand, reading aloud with growing confidence, and even smiling a bit more each day. By the end of the term, they weren’t just improving academically—they truly believed in themselves.

That’s the kind of quiet, powerful impact our teachers make every single day. They notice, they nurture, and they never give up on our students. They bring not only knowledge, but heart, compassion, and encouragement into every classroom.

We are so fortunate to have such dedicated educators in our Wildcat community. Please join us this week in sharing your appreciation and gratitude for the difference they make in the lives of our students.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to everyone who stopped by our AES booth at New Haven Day and to those who came out to support our amazing student performances. Kudos to our Color Guard performers, Anak Ng Bayan dancers, and our Thunder Drums performers for representing our Wildcat community with such pride and talent! A special heartfelt thank you to our incredible PTC for supporting our booth with engaging and fun activities for our families—your partnership truly makes a difference.

Finally, thank you to all who joined us for this past week’s Parent Workshop on things mitigating the “Summer Slide.”  We appreciate your time and commitment to supporting your child’s learning beyond the classroom and into the summer months. Click on the link to view the slides and stay tuned for our Parent University Workshops next year! Give us feedback on what you would like us to learn together.
