Wildcat News- Home School Connection, week 34

AES Autism Awareness Week

Hello Wildcats,

Next week, our students in grades 3–5 will begin CAASPP state testing. We are so proud of the hard work they have shown all year and know they are ready to do their very best!

To help your child feel confident and prepared, please support them by:

  • Arriving at school on time each day
  • Getting a good night’s rest and eating a healthy breakfast
  • Offering words of encouragement to simply try their best

Please note that once testing begins, students who arrive late will need to wait and will not be able to enter the classroom until testing is complete. Punctuality is especially important during this time.

We also want to remind you that our school food pantry will be open this week. Families are always welcome to stop by for fresh produce and shelf-stable items to support your household.

In addition, we invite you to recognize the incredible work of our staff. If an Alvarado educator has made a positive impact on your child’s journey—especially in support of their IEP goals—you are encouraged to submit a nomination for the Mission Valley SELPA Special Education Recognition Award using this link: Special Education Recognition Award Nominations.

Finally, we are excited to celebrate Autism Acceptance Week with a fun Spirit Week! We invite all students and staff to participate:

  • Magnificent Minds Monday – Wear your favorite or a fun/crazy hat
  • Rainbow Tuesday – Wear rainbow or multi-colored clothing
  • What’s Your Passion Wednesday – Wear or share something you are passionate about
  • Wear Red Thursday – Show your support by wearing red
  • Sensory Friendly Friday – Wear your most comfortable clothes

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We believe in our students and know they will shine!
