As we continue through February, we want to extend heartfelt wishes to all of our families. We wish a joyful and prosperous Lunar New Year to those who celebrate!
- Mandarin: 新年快乐 (Xīnnián kuàilè) – “Happy New Year”
- Cantonese: 恭喜發財 (Gung hei fat choi) – “Wishing you prosperity”
- Korean: 새해 복 많이 받으세요 (Saehae bok manhi badeuseyo) – “Wishing you lots of luck in the new year”
- Vietnamese: Chúc Mừng Năm Mới – “Happy New Year”
- Thai: สวัสดีปีใหม่จีน (S̄wạs̄dī pī h̄ım̀ cīn) – “Happy Chinese New Year”
- Malay/ Indonesian: Selamat Tahun Baru Imlek – “Happy Lunar New Year”
This season also brings meaningful observances for many in our community, including Ramadan and Lent. We honor the reflection, renewal, and traditions that these observances represent and remain committed to respecting the diverse cultures, languages, and faiths that make up our school family. Ramadan Mubarak!
Our classrooms are brighter and stronger because of the stories, traditions, and celebrations our students and families share. What a gift it is to learn from one another each day. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate alongside you and for helping us nurture a school community where every child and every family feels seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.
Also, in honor of Black History Month, we continue to highlight the important contributions of the Black community and celebrate leaders whose impact continues to shape our world. We are also proud to spotlight our students of African American descent, Our Wildcat All Stars, nominated by staff, are recognized for their leadership, brilliance, and contributions to our school community. Congratulations this week to the following students who were nominated this past week: Colton Loeffler, Kalia Dangerfield, Isabella Gebreselassie, Zaina Agabna, Zahir Ross, Liliana Picket. Way to Shine Wildcats!
We have a few important dates on the Wildcat News- Home School Connection, week 27. Remember to mark your calendar for this week’s minimum day on Wednesday, February 25. School dismissal is at 12:05. AND join us for our parent workshop on Thursday~ Attendance Counts! Come for coffee, treats, and a chance for a raffle prize. Come learn with us!
