Family Stem Night

Hello Wildcats,

Black History Month is a time to honor the past and present voices of Black leaders whose courage, creativity, and brilliance continue to shape our world. As educator and activist Marian Wright Edelman reminds us, “Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community better than you found it.” We see this legacy reflected in our students each day as they build confidence, share their thinking, and grow as learners. We invite you to listen to one of our morning announcements—a rap created by two of our young learners honoring Frederick Douglass, an inspiring example of student voice and creativity in action. One of our School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) goals this year is to strengthen student learning in math by building strong number sense, problem-solving skills, and confidence. In classrooms, students are engaging in hands-on learning, math discussions, and practice that helps them explain their thinking and apply strategies independently. We invite you to partner with us at our upcoming Family Stem and Math Night! Families will have the opportunity to learn simple games, strategies, and routines that support math learning at home using materials you likely already have. This evening is designed to be interactive, fun, and accessible for all learners. We look forward to learning and growing together as we support our students in becoming confident mathematicians.
